The terms, in plain English.
No dense legal jargon. This is simply how working together actually works: what you get, what it costs, and what happens if you ever want to leave. If anything here isn't clear, just ask before you pay.

These terms are between you (the customer) and SoloSiteStudio, a sole trader business based in Banbury, run by Chris Cachia. By paying for a website, you're agreeing to the terms below.
01 What's included
For the build price, you get a one-page website built for your trade, in a look you choose. Every site includes:
- ✓ A mobile-friendly one-page website, set up with your details, services and photos
- ✓ A contact section so customers can reach you
- ✓ Your Google Business Profile set up, so you show up on Google and Maps
- ✓ Local SEO, so people searching for your trade in your area can find you
- ✓ Hosting, which keeps your site live on the internet (covered by your monthly fee)
Extra pages are available at £50 per page. Anything beyond a standard build, such as a fully bespoke design or custom features, isn't covered by the build price. If you want something more custom, we'll have a quick consultation and I'll give you a separate quote first.
02 What it costs
The price is a one-off build fee plus a monthly fee, both shown clearly before you start. The build fee is a single payment. The monthly fee covers hosting and keeping your site live and looked after, and it continues monthly until you cancel.
Your build includes three changes a month. Small changes such as updating your text, swapping a photo or adjusting your details are covered. Larger changes, such as adding a new page, are charged separately as set out above. Changing the colours used on your template is free, as long as you tell me what you'd like.
03 Payment, and when I start
After you've completed the website details form, I'll send you a secure payment link through Stripe. I start building once two things are in place: your completed form, and your payment. I can't begin without both, because the form is what tells me what to build, and payment confirms you're going ahead.
Once that's sorted, your site usually goes live within seven days, as long as you've sent everything I need (your details and photos). If you're slow getting materials to me, that timeline moves accordingly.
04 Missed monthly payments
I'm reasonable about this. If a monthly payment is missed, nothing happens straight away, and your site stays live. You have 90 days to catch up on what's owed.
If payments still haven't been brought up to date after 90 days, I won't take your site down out of the blue, but I'll stop renewing the hosting and domain on your behalf. That means if they reach their renewal date while unpaid, your site may go offline and you could lose the domain. The simplest way to avoid this is just to keep the monthly payment running, or get in touch if money's tight and we'll sort something out.
05 Cancelling, and your domain
You can cancel any time. There's no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Just let me know.
When you cancel, I'll transfer your domain to you within 14 days of your final payment clearing and you confirming where you'd like it transferred. From that point, the domain and any future renewals are your responsibility, including keeping it registered so it doesn't expire.
Once your site is no longer hosted with me, keeping it online is down to you. I'm happy to point you in the right direction, but ongoing hosting and upkeep become yours to manage.
06 Your files are yours
You've paid for your website, so it's yours. If you ever want the files that make up your site, just ask and I'll send them, at no charge, under any circumstances. There's no fee to hand over what you've already paid for, and no lock-in.
I keep a copy of your site files for 12 months after you leave, in case you want them later. After that I may remove them, so if you think you'll want your files, it's best to ask within that window.
07 What I need from you
To build your site, I'll need your details, your service information and your photos. A few simple responsibilities on your side:
- ✓ The photos and details you send must be yours to use, and accurate
- ✓ Please don't send anything that's illegal, or that you don't have permission to use
- ✓ Getting your materials to me promptly keeps your build on schedule
08 Reviews and getting found on Google
I'll set your site up to be found, and get your Google Business Profile going. But here's the honest part: how high you rank, and how much work you win, depends heavily on having genuine, positive reviews from real customers.
That side is down to you. Doing good work and asking happy customers to leave you a review is the single biggest thing that improves your visibility over time. I can build the foundation, but I can't manufacture your reputation, and I'll only ever display real reviews you've actually received, never invented ones.
09 What I'm not responsible for
I build and look after your site with care, but some things sit outside my control. I'm not liable for lost business, lost income, or any knock-on losses arising from your website. I'm also not responsible for downtime caused by third parties, such as the hosting provider or an internet outage, though I'll always do what I reasonably can to put things right.
Nothing in these terms removes any rights you have under UK consumer law.
10 Using your site as an example
Your content and finished site are yours. I'd like to be able to show your site as an example of my work, for instance on the SoloSiteStudio website or when speaking to other potential customers. If you'd rather I didn't, just say so and that's fine.
11 Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes fall under the courts of England and Wales.
12 Questions
If anything here isn't clear, get in touch before you go ahead. I'd always rather answer a question upfront than have you unsure. You can reach me at chris@solositestudio.co.uk or on 07944 187783.
